Hands-On Learning
You’ll have the chance to DJ a slot at one of our two workshop parties, applying your new skills in a supportive, real-world environment.

Our Two Tracks
DJ & SOCIAL DANCE
TRACK
Limited spots for personalized learning in small groups. Dive into technical skills, swing music history, the art of social dance DJing, bulding and managing your music library. In this track, you'll learn everything you need to become a swing DJ.
REQUIREMENTS:
You do NOT need a music library or a specific software to participate. This workshop is also meant for complete beginners. If you want to DJ at the event it is helpful if you have a notebook or any other device with access to music and a small music collection.

Audio Technology
Dan has more than 12 years of experience in ensuring perfect sound for swing events and festivals. His passion for swing music and his technical expertise allow him to seamlessly manage complex audio systems and mix live bands to present instruments and vocals exactly as the musicians intend. As a Lindy Hop dancer, DJ, and hobby musician, Dan will share his valuable knowledge to ensure you understand sound systems, audio formats, and feel confident and secure behind a mixer.
ELIO POPOLO
DJing & Software
Elio is a scene leader in Basel and has been organizing concerts, regular social dances, and international workshops for over ten years. With vast experience in DJing for a variety of audiences, he has developed effective methods to organize music libraries across different DJ software platforms. Elio will help you organize your music so you can respond to the audience’s needs and create unforgettable dance nights. Basically being ready for an improvised relation with your audience.
MINDAUGAS BIKAUSKAS
Music History
Mindaugas has been immersed in the world of jazz since 2006, when he began swing dancing in Vilnius. He expanded his knowledge of jazz culture and music by connecting with historians, researchers, and musicians worldwide. As the artistic director of the "Harlem" festival until 2017, he oversaw evening programs, performers, and shows. Mindaugas is also a guitarist and has launched several swing bands, including "Rhythm Junkies" and "Home Jazz Five," now known as "Home Jazz Band," which features some of the most renowned jazz musicians from Lithuania.
He co-founded the Jazz Era Quiz and regularly gives lectures on swing music, bands, and DJing. At the workshop, he will introduce you to the history of swing and guide you through important questions and decisions you might face as a swing DJ.
