What makes swing dances so special

Swing music will catch you in just a few bars, sweep you away, and get your feet moving! The music itself, as well as the swing dances that evolved from it, originate from African-American culture and carry its rhythms, energy, and history within themselves.
Lindy Hop, Partner Charleston, Balboa, and Blues are improvisational couple dances in which you can fully express your individuality and creativity. You dance as a team and communicate through movement.
Solo dancing is just as free, exuberant, and expressive in Authentic Jazz and Solo Charleston . All of these dances are playful and equal, offering you an open, dynamic dance community!

Workshop or course?
Start your swing dance adventure in Basel with our kick-off weekend or a weekly course. Your dance weekend is compact, intensive, and ideal for hitting the dance floor right away.
In a course, however, you learn step by step and progressively. Our courses are modular and progressive (Levels 1–5). Of course, you can also start with a compact approach and then continue dancing in a regular class.

Just be there!
Whether you just want to unwind, get creative, or meet new people – you'll find your place with us. Leading and following aren't tied to gender roles with us. You decide which roles you want to dance. In the bi-role course, you can even enjoy it twice: Learn both leading and following at once, and switch roles while dancing!

LINDY HOP
Lindy Hop is an improvisational couples dance. Whether you dance as a leader or a follower, it offers you space for your expression and individuality. It's about teamwork and the connection between the dancers. In Lindy Hop, triple steps are used, and as the music gets faster, you might switch to Partner Charleston. Start Lindy Hop now in a beginner's course in Basel with or without a partner.

BLUES
Blues is an intimate, sensitive dance, often performed in close connection with one another. The original African American styles, danced to blues music at rent parties in 1920s New York, were known as grinding or slow drag, among other names. These moves are still part of the repertoire of today's blues dance.
