The great thing is, you can even take a bath! No matter what the weather is like, we dance with joy – thanks to our wonderful indoor option!
Crash course for everyone without prior knowledge
Every party starts with a 30-minute crash course. You'll learn simple dance basics, meet other newcomers, and then you can join in the dancing right away. The atmosphere? Just like a really good house party – only with swing music.

Ready for your first social dance experience? Come along and discover why our parties are the vibrant heart of Basel's swing dance scene. Here you'll find not only great music and fantastic dancers, but an entire community that welcomes you with open arms.

Do you think, "Everyone else can do this, but I can't"? We understand! That's why every one of our parties starts with a crash course for you and other newbies. Here, you'll learn a few basics in 30 minutes, completely unpressured and with a lot of humor. After the crash course, you can join in the dancing or just watch – whatever you feel comfortable with. Come along, with or without a partner.

During the colder months, we dance indoors either on the 2nd Sunday of the month for Tea Time Swing or on the last weekend of the month on a Friday or Saturday evening.

Every last weekend of the month, we dance in the charming foyer of the Vorstadttheater. Plenty of space, a great floor, and true twenties vibes!
Join without any prior experience
Our parties start with a crash course. You’ll learn a few dance basics and meet other people who are also there for the first time. After just 30 minutes, you’ll be dancing along and feeling like you’re at a fun house party.

Tanzen, Pizza, Jazz – dein neues Sonntagsritual
SO, 9. NOVEMBER 2025
Ab Sonntag, dem 9. November starten wir ein völlig neues Format im Union!
Immer am zweiten Sonntag im Monat wird unser beliebter Tea Time Swing erweitert und zu einem Erlebnis für Füsse, Kopf und Magen: Denn Zuerst tanzen wir gemeinsam beim Tea Time Swing, bestellen anschliessend gemeinsam Pizza und schauen ein Meisterwerk der Musikgeschichte: die Dokumentation „Jazz“ von Ken Burns.
Die monumentale Doku nimmt uns mit nach New Orleans, in die Clubs und Strassen, wo alles begann – und verbindet uns noch stärker mit den afroamerikanischen Wurzeln unserer Musik und Swing-Kultur. Ein perfekter Ausklang der Woche! Schau in den Trailer rein!
Ohne Vorkenntnisse dabei sein!
Unsere Partys starten mit einem Crashkurs. Hier lernst du ein paar Tanzbasics und triffst andere Menschen, die auch zum ersten Mal dabei sind. Nach 30 Minuten tanzt du mit und fühlst dich wie auf einer WG Party! Sichere dir jetzt dein Ticket und sei dabei, wenn Tanzen, Community und Jazzgeschichte zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis verschmelzen.
